Ilze Rukis

Ilze loves and trains her *Dog of a Life Time* BC Zuzu, *Gotta Luv Me Regardless of What I Do* Toy Fox Terrier Fonzie, and *She’s My Girl with Potential*  BC Zip, with loving memories of her first agility dog  *Loyal Lover*Aussie Tucker.

Ilze predominantly participates in NADAC because of the organization’s priorities for the dog’s safety regarding running surface, obstacles and course  design.    Ilze participates or judges in NADAC, AKC, UKC, USDAA and TDAA.   Ilze and Zuzu have participated and placed in multiple NADAC national championships and have consistently placed in NADAC’s annual Top Ten awards since 2002.

Ilze believes that first and foremost the thing to remember in approaching the game of agility is that it is a game of “team”:  The  dog is not wrong, the handler just does not understand. :0)

Her mantra:  “Trust your dog, support your dog.”

Dogs have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember.  I started to train dogs in 1994 and compete in 1996 with my yellow Labrador Retriever Nuisance.   He went on to earn titles in obedience and agility.  UD; MX; MXJ

Marquis is my 11+ year old Border Collie who earned over 40 titles in 6 areas of competition.   She is a Breed Champion; has her Utility Dog Excellent title; TDX Tracking dog Excellent; Herding Started A course Sheep title; Rally Excellent title; Master Agility titles and is a VCD3 dog (Versatile Companion Dog level 3).   She is currently working on her Variable Surface Tracking training.  She is a riot and makes me laugh almost every day.

Isis is my 9 year old border collie who is also titled in Agility; Obedience; Tracking; Herding and Rally.   She has an AX; AXJ; UD; TDX; Herding intermediate B course Sheep title; Rally excellent title and is also a Versatile Companion dog 3.   She is an excellent partner and I truly enjoy working with her in any venue.   She is currently training and competing in agility.   Isis is very connected to me and a very special girl.

Sizzle is my 3 ½ year old Border Collie.   She has her tracking title and over 40 agility tiles in AKC; USDAA and CPE.  She has earned the High Scoring Jumpers dog 2 days at the Border Collie Society of American National Specialty and earned TOP DOG- High combined award as well.   She qualified for her first USDAA agility Nationals in Scottsdale Arizona this fall and her team made the finals and ended up in the top 20!  She is also qualified for the AKC agility nationals to be held in March 2010.   She also trains/competes in Herding and Rally.

I have been teaching agility for over 12 years and am an AKC and ASCA Agility judge as well as an Obedience and Rally judge.   I use a lot of positive motivation and drive in my training.
